In laboratory tests we have performed using Legend Technical Services, Inc. (www.legend-group.com) ‘this is a water testing laboratory’ – we have determined that our alkalinity reverse osmosis unit raises the Ph ‘of our drinking water’ (between 8 to 8.5 Ph) and adds calcium to the water.
Based upon Troy Phillips’ calculations – if our clients drink 60 ounces of our alkalinity reverse osmosis water a day – this may equal 10% of their daily recommended calcium intake.
Here is some information we have recently gleaned from the World Health Organization Summary 2009: Calcium and Magnesium in Drinking-water Public health significance.
Higher calcium intakes have been related to higher bone mass in children, young adults and postmenopausal women in most (64 out of 86) observational epidemiological studies and clinical trials of calcium supplementation (Heaney 2000). However, most individuals do not consume adequate intakes of calcium.
A review of published and unpublished data (Heaney 2006) showed that the absorbability of the calcium in the waters tested is comparable to the absorbability of calcium in milk when studied under similar conditions (see Figure 3.1). Heaney (2006) concluded that the calcium in high-calcium mineral waters is highly absorbable and that mineral water consumption can potentially account for a substantial fraction of total daily calcium intake, noting that high calcium water functions much like a supplement – i.e. it provides basically a single nutrient (or, at most, two, in the case of the bicarbonate-rich waters). By contrast, milk, the comparator source most widely used to evaluate the absorbability of other calcium sources, provides, in addition to its calcium, a broad array of other nutrients important for total body as well as skeletal health.
Ten studies reported a statistically significant inverse (i.e. protective) association between drinking-water hardness and cardiovascular disease mortality (Masironi et al. 1979; Pocock et al. 1980; Leary et al. 1983; Lacey and Shaper 1984; Leoni et al. 1985; Rylander et al. 1991; Yang et al. 1996; Sauvant and Pepin 2000; Marque et al. 2003; Kousa et al. 2004).
One study found a significant inverse association between acute myocardial infarction and both calcium and magnesium levels (Rubenowitz et al. 1999).
Many ecological studies report an inverse (i.e. protective) association between cardiovascular disease mortality and water hardness, calcium or magnesium levels; however, results are not consistent.

I was very impressed with Hayden Boyett and his knowledge about the Reverse Osmosis (RO) process. As a Nutrition Therapist I teach the powerful impact alkalinity has on our bodies. As a chiropractor I have worked with the employees of Boyett's Rayne Water for over 20 years. They acquired my services to help maintain the health of their employees and treat work related injuries. I have also been a customer of their water systems during that same 20 years. As I became aware of the benefits of natural alkaline water, I found that it was much easier for me to drink lots of water when alkalized. I was complaining to Hayden Boyett that the Reverse Osmosis systems created acidic water that was not as healthy or as easy to drink as alkaline water. My rating is that Boyetts new alkalinity reverse osmosis system is great. my mother in law is visiting from Oklahoma and did not want to drink the tap water nor did she trust the new system. I asked her to try it for a week and if she was not happy we would buy her bottled water. After a few days she loves the system and states we do not have to waste money on bottled water. I had bought the original reverse osmosis system but was told it would cost almost as mush as my original purchase so the rental is great. thanks Boyetts.
ENERGIZED WATER
Your body is 70 percent water. Water composes 70 percent of muscle, 25 percent of fats, 75 percent of your brain, and over 90 percent of your blood. Water regulates your body's temperature, cushions and protects vital organs, aids in digestion, transports nutrients within each cell, and dispels wastes. Water also helps to prevent kidney stones caused by the body combining excess acid with calcium. One study also showed that women who drank more than five glasses of water a day had a 45 percent less risk of colon cancer. Yet another study showed a decreased chance of bladder cancer when more than 2.5 quarts of fluid were consumed daily. Maintaining your level of hydration is very important to the overall health of your pancreas and your body as a whole. You should be drinking at least four liters of water - or about one gallon - per day.
DEHYDRATION DANGERS
We're aware that extreme dehydration can result in death. What many of us don't know is that even mild dehydration can have terrible effects on the body's performance:
=> A 3 percent drop in body weight through water loss causes a 10 percent drop of contractile strength in your muscles and an 8 percent drop of speed, as well as losses in muscular endurance.
=> A 5 percent loss will cause problems with concentration, drowsiness, impatience, and headaches.
=> A 6 percent loss will cause your heart to race and your body's temperature regulation mechanism to fail.
=> A 7 percent loss will lead to collapse.
DRINK ENOUGH WATER
In an average day - one that doesn't feature physical activity, extreme environmental conditions, or a few other water-draining factors as air travel or high-rise buildings - you can experience a 1 percent loss of water. Many of us have at least a few factors that contribute to water loss in our lives. We may not travel in an airplane every day, but if you're health conscious you're working out - a major dehydration activity. You may also live in a hot or dry (or even worse, hot) environment. How much more dehydrated are you because of these factors?
A recent study conducted by the Yankelovich Partners for the Nutrition Information Center at the New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center, and International Bottled Water Association revealed that dehydration is a much more wide-spread problem than you may have thought.
"Most Americans are probably only getting about one-third of the valuable hydration benefits they need," explains Barbara Levine, R.D., Ph.D., Director of the Nutrition Information Center at the New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center. "The vast majority isn't drinking enough water to begin with, and to make matters worse, many don’t realize that beverages containing alcohol and caffeine actually rob the body of water."
A study conducted at the Nutrition Information Center reports many other startling facts:
=> The average American only consumes 4.6 servings of water a day; barely half of the recommended amount.
=> Only one in five meets the recommended eight 8 - ounce glasses of water a day.
=> 44 percent of respondents reported drinking three or fewer servings of water daily.
=> Nearly one in 10 respondents reported drinking no water at all!
"It's troubling that so few Americans drink the recommended amount of water daily," notes Levine. "The consumption of water and other hydrating beverages is crucial for proper retention and use of the body's water in complex and intricate biochemical processes." Not so surprising is the overwhelming ignorance of the effects of dehydration. Survey respondents were aware that mild dehydration could cause dry skin and headaches, but the knowledge seems to stop there.
=> On in five did not know that caffeinated beverages dehydrate.
=> Nearly half - 47 percent - of Americans are unaware that they lose as much water when asleep as when awake.
=> 37 percent do not know that the body needs as much water in cold weather as it does in warm.
"This look at America's hydration habits suggests what could be a significant and widespread health concern," reports Levine. "The survey clearly demonstrates the need for much more public education about the benefits of proper hydration and the problems even minor dehydration can cause."
DRINK THE RIGHT WATER
Keeping our body properly hydrated is not just a matter of drinking the right amount of water. It's just as important to drink the right water.
Our water supplies today have become increasingly contaminated and thus dangerous to our health. But just as water can be ruined by certain additives and actions, so too can it be made healthier. By drinking alkalized and energized water, you will rehydrate and revitalize your body.
Pure water ranks an even seven on the pH scale. However, often tap water and even some bottled waters are actually acidic. When water is acidic it could contain metal ions such as iron, lead, cadmium and mercury - all toxic, and, in excess, ca cause serious health issues.
Your body seeks to maintain a slightly alkaline state. When we introduce acidic substances into our body, we throw that alkaline state off. Your body doesn't want that. So, in an effort to overcome that situation, your body will use alkaline substances to counteract the acidic ones.
Now that the acid is neutralized, you'll need to wash it away. How do you do that? With water. Pure water, which is neutral, would wash away those wastes. Unfortunately, our water today has been contaminated and changed to the point where it is more acidic than neutral. What would happen if you try to wash away an acid with an acid? With acidic water, your body has to employ even more alkaline substances to balance out the problems.
Contrast that practice with the idea of drinking alkaline water. By drinking alkaline water, you are helping your body to maintain its preferred alkaline state. You'll also help prevent the gleaning of alkaline substances from other body parts. Alkaline water is also highly oxygenated; oxygen is perhaps the single most important substance that your body needs. Finally, microforms won't be able to thrive in an environment that is supplied with alkaline water. Here's a brief list of some of the benefits of alkaline water:

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ALKALINE WATER IONIZERS AND WATER PURIFIERS?
Many of you reading this right now may be a little puzzled. Glancing at the kitchen faucet, you may wonder, "But I have a filter and use one of those filtration pitcher things. Isn't my water good for me?" Yes and no. Clearly, drinking filtered water is better than guzzling diet soda, but alkaline water is very different from purified water.

Throughout this discussion I've tried to impress upon you the importance of maintaining an alkaline, rather than acidic balance in the body. Remember that our bodies do regulate their internal pH to keep us alive. Alkalinity filter which reduces the acid in our drinking water...I would like to think was developed for us just because we asked..we already had the reverse osmosis installed and were happy with that, although, my concern about the high acid in our drinking water made me seek a solution. I contacted Hayden and Troy at Boyett Family Rayne Water company so their research and development department went into action. To our surprise, at our next service call Boyett installed this calcite filter. We have had it for 6 months now and have noticed significant health improvements in ourselves and our dogs, which enjoy the water as well. In our case, since the reduction of acid in our water my hip pain has disappeared, which allows me to work out more, which lead to weight loss. (my size 8's look great, thanks). Another benifit was when I wore costume jewelery my skin would turn green, this no longer happens. As I prepare our application for 2011 BBB Business Ethics Award I came across this article which I will share with our readers.
Storing Acid in our Bodies :
Dr. Lynda Frassetto from the University of California believes that humans, in evolutionary terms, have changed. Once upon a time, our bodies used to break down food and dispose of the acid waste with our kidneys and livers. But now, because of the sheer amount of acid waste the average American produces, she sees our inner bodies being turned into a war zone, where our body is fighting to protect its most strategic reserves --- our kidney and liver -- from total degradation and failure.
To prove this theory, Dr. Frassetto studied 1000 people and discovered that we are indeed stockpiling acid waste in our fatty deposits instead of eliminating it with our kidneys and liver. Cholesterol and crystallized uric acid are solidified acids that have been dumped within the body for later disposal, which never comes. Our bodies have made the choice to preserve our kidney and liver instead of processing the acid waste.
The cost is tremendous -- obesity, low energy, and many acid related diseases such as osteoarthritis, diabetes, cancer, and much more.
When our bodies are excessively acidic, they borrow essential minerals such as calcium, sodium, potassium, and magnesium from our vital organs and bones to buffer or neutralize the acid. The result is our bodies suffer from prolonged degradation or corrosion which manifests into these dehabilitating conditions.
The reason is simple -- the average American diet contains way too much acid. Diet coke and other soda is probably the most acidic food people consume at a pH of 2.5. Beer and meat are at 3.5, then there's diary, white pasta, most water, wine, hard alcohol, nuts and butters, beans, oils -- all acidic foods. All produce acid waste in our bodies that they can't handle.
Sugar is an acid and he sees Westerners consumption of sugar as the reason why so many are overweight. The body has to protect itself from the excess sugar, so it creates fat to encase the acid.

The worst case scenario in which many Westerners fit into is where we work 40-50 hour stressful weeks with hardly any breaks to calm ourselves down. Acid coagulates blood. Blood also can't flow around fatty acids so capillaries clog up and die. Our skin begins to wrinkle and isn't as stretchy. You would die from poisoning from your own blood. Because of this, our organs are totally subservient to blood pH meaning the body will destroy our organs before it lets our blood pH change too much.

Today Troy Phillips took the water (produced by our alkalinity reverse osmosis unit) tested (at the Kannapel's factory- Paul Reside and Bette Kannapel were present). We compared the reverse osmosis water with the alkalinity water: the reverse osmosis water tested 6.5 PH (7.0 PH is considered neutral); the alkalinity water tested 8 to 8.5 PH.
Our alkalinity reverse osmosis filter raised the ph up 1.5 points to give us alkalinity water measuring 8 or 8.5 PH
